Poem Starting with a Line from Norman
Dubie

This kiss is like a dress falling off a tall
building,

no, higher!, floating from the top of the Space
Needle.

This kiss is queensize, XXXL, and cups the air

softly (spring in Seattle!), in no hurry at all.

You could take this kiss to a party and walk it
home;

you would introduce this kiss to your really good
friends.

And as the kiss leaps away in the middle of
sightseeing

you know no other kiss has ever come close.
Forsake

all the rest and catch your breath, your racing
heart.

This kiss is suicidal, inconsolable and utterly
rare.
