local_library The End of the Tunnel

by Stephanie Smith

Published in Issue No. 215 ~ April, 2015

All is serene

in mild euphoria—

this migraine afterglow—

as I bask in a shower of saline,

down a cool glass of

mathematical equations

that have waited centuries to be solved

There are always theorems to prove

and I seek to unravel

each and every mystery,

swim the cerulean seas

of neurons and complexity

And arrive at the very light

that’s been killing me
