Subject: Minimalism and the Short Story . . .
Hi,
Thanks for the book review -- the only "correction"
that I'd like to make is that the initial manuscript of this
book was finished in 1996 -- accepted for publication early
1998 -- revised and sent to press in 1999 and actually
published November 1999
Tumble Home was not available until well into the final
process of the manuscript.

Dear Camille Renshaw and Editors,
Just wanted to let you know that I appreciate Pif and the keen eye you
and the other editors have for superb writing. I use Pif regularly in
my classroom as a resource for prose and poetry models.
Again, thanks!!

Subject: Lake Shore by Billy Collins
Works well. Surprising turns. The poet takes a risk to write exactly where
profs and pros say NO; then Collins turns it into a wonderful close up of nature
which itself turns imaginatively into a comment on our work-all-day-for-pay
self-restricted lives.
Bravo.

Subject: Strange Attractors by Richard Weems
What a magical piece of work. I myself am trying to find a means
whereby we can 'escape logic', this idea that we need to make sense and
that we need to know where we are going. We need to let go of this
desire to know everything and rather learn to experience the present.
Because that's all that really matters.
Richard - I'd love to read anything else you've written along these
lines if any such work exists.
